Why do we give?

As a response to what God has given us (Genesis 28:20-22)
Just as Jacob gave a tenth of all he had, we give 10% of all we have to show that we trust God and His provision for us daily.
To furnish and beautify our place of worship (Exodus 25:1-9)
God is specific in His instruction for how we should care for His tabernacle and our offerings are to be given to assist in the care and maintenance of the tabernacle.
To store up food for those in need (Malachi 3:10-12)
When we give our tithe to the Lord, we are giving it to Him to store for use as He determines for His house. We are giving so that the church can function and sustain.
To take care of each other as the needs arise (Acts 4:32-36)
We share all we have so that all of the body of Christ may have no lack or need.
To take care of those who serve us full-time in our church (1 Corinthians 9:6-14)
We give to provide for those to serve full-time in ministry.
