Salvation through Jesus Christ

According to the teachings of the Bible, all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). This separation from God is a result of our human nature marred by sin and the inability to reach God's perfect standards on our own. The consequences of sin include spiritual death and eternal separation from God.

 In God's love and mercy, He provided a solution for our sin problem through Jesus Christ, His Son. Jesus, being fully God and fully man, lived a sinless life and willingly offered Himself as a sacrifice for the sins of humanity. Through His death on the cross, Jesus paid the penalty for our sins, and through His resurrection, He conquered sin and death, offering the gift of eternal life to all who believe in Him. 

 Salvation is a gift offered freely to all who believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. This belief involves acknowledging one's need for salvation, confessing and turning away from sin, and placing faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. As the Bible states in Romans 10:9, "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." 

 Upon receiving salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, believers experience forgiveness of sins, reconciliation with God, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. This newfound relationship with God brings about spiritual transformation, a renewed purpose in life, and the hope of eternal life in the presence of God.

We believe God's grace is available to anyone who repents and believes in the gospel. I confess that Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life, died on the cross for the forgiveness of my sins, and rose again from the dead, offering salvation and eternal life to all who believe in Him. I acknowledge Jesus as the ultimate Savior, offering hope, redemption, and reconciliation with God. I recognize that through faith in Jesus, I can experience the forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life, as stated in John 3:16, 'For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.' I declare that Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of my faith, the ultimate example of love, and the source of my strength and comfort. I commit to following Jesus and living a life that honors Him. With this confession of faith, I acknowledge Jesus as my Lord and Savior, and I look forward to growing in my relationship with Him and sharing His love and grace with others. In Jesus' name, Amen."

This confession of faith in Jesus for salvation is a proclamation of the foundational beliefs of the Sure Foundation Community Fellowship Church.
